This Hyundai Genesis Coupe Has 1000 HP

SEMA 2013

It's a far cry from those old econoboxes Hyundai used to build.

Just a decade ago the words Hyundai and horsepower didn’t go together. But that was then and this is now. Hyundai and Bisimoto Engineering have just revealed their 1000 horsepower Genesis Coupe at SEMA 2013. Currently, this is solely a one-off vehicle, but various elements of its upgrades could be used in the future for either in-house or aftermarket performance kits. Described as a "no-holds-barred racer," the factory spec 3.8-liter V6 has been given twin Turbonetics turbochargers, upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump.

The exterior receives a ventilated hood and carbon-fiber decklid spoiler along with an Electric Blue-painted body paired with 20-inch aluminum wheels. There’s even a drag chute. The interior has special racing seats, a roll cage and plenty of carbon fiber trim.
