If a standard Bentley isn't special or exclusive enough for you, the luxury automaker's Mulliner division can create unique interior trims, custom exterior colors, and even coachbuilt one-off models tailored to your exact requirements - the only limit is your imagination (and your wallet).

Since Mulliner was formed seven years ago in response to the increased demand for personalized vehicles, the customization division has built some stunning limited-edition luxury models such as the beautiful Bacalar and the recent one-off Bentayga Hybrid. Now, after seven years Mulliner has completed its 1,000th bespoke commission for a European customer who wanted to personalize their Bentayga with two unique interior design features.

The Bentayga's interior was customized with a swanky Olive Ash veneer, which is associated with the heritage of the Mulsanne, and a contrasting twin stitch applied to the upper areas of the seats and door trims. To celebrate its 1,000th commission, Mulliner's design team is also looking back at some of their favorite bespoke Bentleys created by the customization division.

Over the years, Mulliner's customers have commissioned unique interior veneers with bespoke inlays, personalized treadplates, and bespoke upholstery stitching and embroidery. Some commissions have also spawned exquisite limited-edition models like the Flying Spur Serenity, which was Mulliner's first project.

Limited to 15 examples, the Flying Spur Serenity focused on comfort, with re-engineered seats and headrests and unique diamond quilting applied throughout the cabin. Mulliner also designed seven bespoke Continentals inspired by the Breitling Jets aerial display team finished in black, silver and yellow, color-matched to the aircraft and a Bentayga with different interior trim specifications between the driver and passenger sides.

More recently, Mulliner designed the limited-edition Continental GT Pikes Peak to celebrate Bentley's production car record at the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. "Since 2014, our Mulliner Design team has averaged three customer commissions a week, showing just how popular bespoke Bentleys are becoming," said Paul Williams, Director of Mulliner and Motorsport.

"The team, led by design manager Phil Dean, has worked on everything from Continental GT3 liveries all the way up to the specifications and details of the 12 cars of the Blower Continuation Series," said Paul Williams, director of Mulliner and motorsport.

"The only thing all of those designs have in common is that they are for individual customers - apart from that, each one is as unique as the rest. The scope of what's achievable with a standard production Bentley has now been brought to life by the team through the use of the dedicated Mulliner visualizer, which allows our customers to choose the color and trim specifications of their cars with real-time photorealistic visualization of the result. The co-creation process with Mulliner designers is now available to everyone."
