Mercedes' performance nuthouse AMG has been on a role lately. Between expanding its engine manufacturing and making its fast cars go even faster, the brand is poised for a massive takeover of race tracks and the hearts of gearheads alike. Now, Car and Driver has managed to dig up some more info on AMG's world domination plans after speaking with head honcho Tobias Moers. The future sounds pretty promising for the three-lettered powerhouse. The first part of the takeover plan is a nine-speed automatic transmission for the E63 AMG.

This will be combined with the electronic rear differential from the C63 AMG coupe to make a hell-raising vehicle. Speaking of the C63, a convertible version of the coupe will also gain AMG badges and the same 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine. At the higher end of its line, Mercedes plans to add more power to its V12 engines in order to distinguish them from the rest of the pack. This means the G65 AMG and S65 AMG will be even nuttier. AMG will launch a volley at Porsche as well by releasing a roadster version of the AMG GT as well as adding a few more track-friendly versions. The next step for Mercedes might as well be an AMG branded death star.
