Sales begin next year. Only 20 examples are up for grabs.
Those who have experienced the 707 hp Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk are fully aware it's anything but the typical SUV. While it may drive like a sweetheart on around town and on the highway, hit the throttle on a clear straightaway or drag strip and all of its 645 lb-ft of torque does its thing with great success. Zero to 60 mph happens in a mere 3.5 seconds. Retired supercars, such as the Lamborghini Murcielago, achieved similar times. Like we said, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is not normal, but in a good way. And abnormal doesn't always come cheap.
According to Autocar, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is set to go on sale in the UK next year for the first time with a starting price of £89,999.
According to today's exchange rates, that's nearly $115,000. To compare, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has a US starting price of $87,695. So in other words, pricing is roughly about the same for both countries. Autocar doesn't specifically mention if the UK market Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will undergo any drastic changes, though we doubt it. Like all Grand Cherokees, production takes place not far from Detroit, Michigan. The most notable difference, quite obviously, is that it will be right-hand drive. Like all Grand Cherokee Trackhawks, power comes from that supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8, paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Top speed is around 180 mph.
Compared to regular Grand Cherokees, the Trackhawk features a Bilstein active damping suspension, Brembo brakes, 20-inch titanium wheels, and several styling differences like a vented hood and quad exhaust pipes. The interior is nearly all standard Grand Cherokee, with the notable exceptions of Trackhawk logos. There's also a standard 19-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, 8.4-inch infotainment screen and a 7-inch digital driver's information screen. A precise on sale date was not provided, but if you're a UK resident and have the money and courage to buy one, you'd better act fast because only 20 examples will be available, at least for 2019.
