Presented as a full-scale model, with a design that points towards upcoming sports car.
The Vision Gran Turismo series seemingly has no bounds, with this stunning effort from the Alpine brand the latest model to join the virtual racing game. With elements “directly inspired” by the reborn marque’s upcoming sports car, due out in 2016, the Alpine Vision GT has been unveiled along with a full-scale model of the concept. Based around a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, power comes from a 4.5-liter V8 mounted midship, rated at 444 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque.
Drive is sent to the rear via a seven-speed sequential transmission, while the 900-kg concept can hit a top speed of 199 mph. Cool touches on the car include the fold-out side airbrakes housing the brake lights, and the stunning alloys. Heralding a new chapter in Alpine’s revival the concept “stands at the crossroads of the past, present and future, at the frontier between motorsport and road cars. It also provides a link between the virtual and real worlds.” The scale model is now on display at the Festival Automobile International in Paris, while gamers will be able to download the Vision GT in March, when it will be made available in white and blue, orange and blue, and matte black.
