Just in time for summer, Aston Martin has officially revealed the drop-top version of the Vanquish, the Vanquish Volante. Like its coupe counterpart, the Volante is powered by the same 6.0-liter that's good for 573 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. It can go from 0-62 mph in just 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 183 mph. But here's where that extra kick of awesomeness comes into the picture: this is the automaker's first Volante (that's a convertible in Aston Martin-speak) that has a carbon fiber body.

It's also the stiffest convertible in the brands century-long existence. All told, the car weighs in at 4,065 lbs. That's just a bit less than 20 lbs. heavier than the coupe.

The roof itself is constructed from triple-skin lightweight fabric that takes just 14 seconds to fold and it sits beneath a tonneau and decklid. Other than the roof, the Vanquish Volante is a mirror image of the Vanquish Coupe with the same interior and six-speed automatic gearbox sending all of that V12 power to the rear wheels. Sales will begin later this year with prices starting at $297,995.
