This Is The Best C8 Corvette Video We've Seen

Video / Comments

Welcome to the first C8 "walkaround."

Next month is the month, specifically July 18. That's when Chevrolet will officially unveil its all-new C8 Corvette. We don't need to remind everyone why this is so monumental. Although we've seen plenty of spy shots from our photographers as well as photos released by the automaker itself of that camouflaged C8 prototype driving around New York City not long ago, we have a pretty good idea what the final product will look like. It's not extremely difficult to Photoshop out the camo and replace it with regular body paint colors.

What is, however, far more difficult is creating rendered C8 production cars in video format. Well, it's now been done. The same talented rendering artist Charles Cronley, aka Chazcron, who cooked up those previous C8 renderings, is back with this walkaround video. Yes, seriously.

A walkaround video for a vehicle that has yet to officially be unveiled. How cool is that! And like the rest of his work, this video is seriously top quality. It's hard to believe it's not real. The drizzle of rain hitting the ground and not the rendered C8 partially gives away the video's true nature. The "live footage" makes the rendering all the more real due it being shot on a driveway. Anyway, the 3D rendering is spectacular. The car's details are spot-on (again based on the spy images). Even the headlight design looks about production-spec. The wheel design is the same as those pre-production C8s and we're fairly certain it'll be one of several offered to buyers.

We still not 100 percent what's under the hood but we'd be willing to bet serious money the C8 will initially debut with an updated version of the outgoing C7's LT1 6.2-liter V8. Sources indicate it'll be dubbed LT2 and will produce somewhere between 550 hp to 600 hp. We'll see. But for now, enjoy the video and the bottom line is this: if you don't like the C8 shown here chances are you won't like the real deal.
