It combines the F-250 Super Duty's diesel power with the aggressive looks of a Ford Raptor.
While Europe's Ford Ranger Raptor is powered by a 2.0-liter diesel, America doesn't offer a diesel-powered Ford F-150 Raptor. Enter the Megaraptor, a custom truck built by MegaRexx that combines the aggressive looks and off-road performance of a Ford Raptor with the tremendous torque offered by Ford's V8 turbodiesel. Designed for truck enthusiasts who "love a Raptor but need diesel power," the Megaraptor started life as a Ford F-250 Super Duty Platinum before being converted.
To turn the F-250 into a Raptor, Megarexx installs a body kit that includes a custom fiberglass hood and larger front and rear fenders that make room for the Megaraptor's massive 46-inch Michelin XZL 395/85R20 tires wrapped around aluminum wheels.
A steel halo is fitted to the front of the truck to support the one-piece tilting hood, headlights, and grille. The front end tilts open like a semi-truck for easier access and the wider track helps improve stability when cornering. A lift kit raises the ride height by four inches and longer shocks are installed on the front and rear. Compared to the regular F-250 Super Duty, the Megaraptor is 12 or 18 inches wider depending on the options selected. A custom front bumper and LED lighting at the rear, front, and sides add to the aggressive look. If you want subtly, you won't find it on the Megaraptor.
Despite the extensive modifications, the Megaraptor retains the F-250 Super Duty's impressive towing capability. For reference, the F-250 Super Duty has a towing capacity of up to 22,000 pounds. Under the hood, the F-250 Super Duty's 6.7-liter turbo diesel has been left stock, generating 475 hp and a colossal 1,050 lb-ft of torque.
With a wide array of customization options ranging from the body color to the front bumper design and trailer hitches, to the side rails, and spare tire mounts, every custom-built Megaraptor is unique. Megarexx also offers Megaraptor conversions for F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks.
