This Is The Lamborghini Of Go-Karts

Motorsport / Comments

Lamborghini teams up with Xiaomi to create the ultimate go-kart.

Lamborghini is no stranger to the racetrack, with a 1,200-horsepower Huracan recently setting a blistering lap time around the Nurburgring, but we're certainly not used to seeing the famed Italian supercar maker involved in the humble sport of go-kart racing. With the help of Chinese corporate giant Xiaomi, Lamborghini will now feature its name on a high-performance version of the Ninebot GoKart which is already on sale in the US under the Segway brand. The new model will be known as the Ninebot GoKart Pro Lamborghini Edition. Not only does this mean machine look the part, but it also gets a higher top speed.

The standard Ninebot Kart, which comes in a white finish, is transformed into a stinging bumble bee thanks to a yellow Lambo-inspired livery that transforms this little kart into a serious-looking track weapon. Changes aren't only skin deep: this little terror also gets some additions that make it even more fun to pilot around the track. Notable additions include a sports steering wheel, a larger rear spoiler, as well as tough steel material for the bodywork. This machine can accommodate up to 100 kg of weight, and the body also features a TPE soft anti-collision front lip, as well as aerodynamic TPE side skirts and "Ice Lake Blue" LED headlights.

In terms of power, the Lambo-inspired cart is based on the pure electric module with a 432Wh battery, and custom performance tires help to lay down the electric juice. To make things seem even more race-like, Xiaomi claims that the kart can even emit race car engine sounds. It's 3 mph faster than the standard kart with a top speed of 25 mph, and it has enough juice to do 62 laps around a 400-meter race track. That's close to 16 miles of range. The supercar-inspired go-kart went on sale this past weekend at a price of $1,440.
