This tractor driver needs a better co-pilot.
Rally drivers are constantly at risk of crashing due to the very nature of their sport. They travel backcountry roads at high speeds with only split seconds to make turns while all the while trying to avoid spectators. The last thing a WRC driver needs is to worry about a lost tractor wandering onto the course, but that’s exactly what happened to Belgian driver Thierry Neuville. Fortunately Neuville recognized the danger and some photographers also helped to warn him of the threat.
Things could have been a lot worse here had the rally Hyundai had crappy brakes or if both drivers didn’t see the danger. Either way this will go down as one of the oddest near-misses in racing history.
