It wasn't until just a few weeks before last January's Detroit Auto Show did we hear a rumor or two about a potential Ford GT successor. This project was kept so much a secret that only a few top level Ford executives were even aware of its existence. Aside from them, the only people who knew about where those tasked with designing, engineering, and building the prototype itself. That secrecy very much paid off, and only now is Ford showing off that top secret underground design studio where its new GT was created.
This is, essentially, a 21st century skunkworks project, and it looks damn cool.
Ford also released a second video showing a timelapse of the first GT foam model being created.
