We're used to seeing render artists producing bizarre mash-ups of cars that should never go together, but it takes someone brave to pull it off in real life. What you're looking here is a Frankenstein monster of a car based on a 2007 Ford Mustang, and it's easily one of the weirdest-looking cars we've ever seen. Dubbed the Muia, the custom body was apparently made by hand-formed steel apart from the door skins, roof and part of the trunk. The headlights are from a 2008 Lotus Elise, while the taillights are taken from a 1989 Cadillac.

It also has a new hood that tilts up, remote door latches and a leather interior. Under the hood is a V6 engine with an aftermarket Vortech supercharger providing extra power. To be fair, it would have taken a lot of skill to build a custom car like this, so credit where it's due. But to say that the resulting car looks hideous is an understatement - that front nose would make small children cry. Should you want to own this heavily modified Mustang, if you can even still call it that, it's currently listed for sale on Craigslist with 37,000 miles on the clock for $5,995. A visit to the website listed in the advert reveals that this monstrosity is the work of Carl Muia.

In fairness, Muia has designed some beautiful metal artwork and custom classic cars from the 1940s. We're not quite sure what the inspiration behind this custom Mustang was, but it would certainly be a unique addition to anyone's car collection. Whether you would want to be seen driving it in public is another matter.
