Ever heard of Alpha? Us neither. But there's no denying that its latest unveiling pictured below, the Alpha Ace, bears a striking similarity to the Alfa Romeo GT Junior, a car that also received comprehensive modernization back in 2017. But unlike that car, this is not powered by a combination of gasoline and spark. No, this car runs on electricity alone, and it's a charmingly retro vehicle with a simplistic approach to interior and exterior design that we're absolutely smitten with.

While the likes of the Porsche Taycan aim to make electric mobility impossible to ignore by bringing all the speed, luxury, and convenience you expect of a modern car, the Alpha Ace takes an altogether different approach. Finished in a unique silver called Blue Seraph, it's an interesting proposition.

First off, it's very small. While a modern 911 is almost 178 inches long, the Ace coupe is just 165 inches long, 74 inches wide, and stands just 57 inches tall. Those proportions mean that the rear seats are "for occasional storage" rather than transporting passengers. And while there's no denying this car's historical Italian influences, it's more than just a re-bodied EV, or an electrified classic. The company wants to do something different with this car, focusing on simplicity while still giving you what you need.

Michael Smith, Alpha Motor Corporation's CEO, says that "the Ace coupe is for consumers who desire a sleek ride with the versatility, energy efficiency, and environmental friendliness of an electric vehicle."

Despite those compact dimensions, the Ace offers a trunk with 14 cubic feet of volume, but what else do you get? Well, the cabin is very simple, but a massive touchscreen infotainment display features along with a minimalistic steering wheel bearing just two buttons. It's a rear-wheel-drive machine, so it should be fun to drive, and with a weight of 3,600 pounds, it can still manage to do the sprint from 0-60 mph in a respectable six seconds. It's also got a range over over 250 miles, as well as LED headlights, a premium sound system, and various wheel options from 16 to 18 inches in size. Pricing and further details are expected in the coming months, when Alpha plans to release other variants of the Ace.
