We all love watching the spectacle of tires begging for mercy during a smoky burnout. But have you ever wondered what this looks like inside a tire when they explode? Well, wonder no more. After filming a car journey with a GoPro mounted inside a tire, YouTube channel Warped Perception decided to up the ante and film what happens inside a tire when a car performs a burnout. A GoPro camera was mounted to the wheel before a tire was wrapped around it and hooked up to a stripped-out Mercedes E-Class Sedan.

The car has no body panels, which was probably a wise decision when you see what happens in the video. The YouTuber doesn't hold back and deliberately tests the tires to destruction, refusing to stop until the tire blows.

They put their foot down and let the rear wheels spin until the tires can't take any more punishment, causing them to disintegrate and send burned rubber flying into the air and showering the tarmac with debris. While it's cool to watch from the outside, the GoPro camera mounted inside the tire was destroyed during the first attempt.

Unfortunately, the SD card also snapped in half, so there no hope of recovering footage. Fortunately, the second attempt didn't destroy the camera, giving us a unique perspective of a tire-smoking burnout. You can see the rubber melting before it disintegrates as well as how hot it gets inside the tire during a burnout as smoke fills up inside. It sounds just as violent as you would expect from inside the tire, too.

For our viewing pleasure, we also get to see the burnout from the outside the car and watch the tire explode in glorious slow motion. It's a reminder that performing burnouts can be a very expensive hobby. We look forward to seeing what unique automotive experiment Warped Perception will perform next.
