Jaguar invited us to ride shotgun in the F-Type Project 7 during the Festival of Speed this weekend. But things didn't quite go to plan. Having driven over from the Supercar paddock with Jaguar's engineering consultant and badass driver John Barker, we approached the starting line of the iconic 1.16-mile run to the top. Then the safety marshal spotted my helmet was missing a visor. And chucked me out of the car.

I was gutted, but I managed to keep my cool and as I stepped out of the most powerful Jaguar ever made, turned to John and asked if he would kindly send as much of the 575-hp from the snarling, crackling 5.0-liter supercharged V8 to the rear wheels and smoke the shit out of everyone so concerned with my safety. And this is what he did.
