This Is What It's Like To Be Inside An Airborne IndyCar

"Terrifying" is a good way to describe it.

Helio Castroneves added some unexpected excitement to a practice session for the Indianapolis 500 when his car hit a wall and went airborne. The car did about half of a front flip before landing upside down and skidding. That skid caused it to flip right-side up before eventually sliding to a halt. Cameras on the car captured the action from the driver’s point of view, and it’s simply terrifying. Castroneves walked away from the wreck and checked out just fine at the hospital.

This video gives a great look at what IndyCar drivers go through during a crash. Yes, a lot of casual fans only want to see cars wreck during races, but this video may just change that.
