Remember way back in August 2019 when Infiniti teased a new model called the QX55? We won't blame you for forgetting since the car has already been delayed well past its original arrival date of summer 2020. Infiniti finally has some good news because the new QX55 is almost here. The Japanese carmaker has announced that the QX55 will make its long-awaited debut on November 11, 2020.

The QX55 will be based on the 2020 Infiniti QX50, but feature a more coupe-like roofline that has just been teased in a new image. This will be the first time Infiniti has offered a luxury crossover coupe since the QX70 (formerly known as the FX) left production in 2017.

Infiniti says the QX55's roofline and visual elements are inspired by the iconic FX, and based on the single teaser image provided, we can see where the company is coming from. The rear end looks different than the QX50 on which it is based, but not entirely different than other SUV coupes like the BMW X4 or Mercedes GLC Coupe. Under the hood, we anticipate the QX55 will share the same 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder engine with the QX50, with 268 horsepower going out to a CVT.

"Beyond its provocative looks, the QX55 will also feature innovative technologies designed to empower, engage, and connect luxury customers to the road ahead," Infiniti teased.

The reveal will take place on November 11, 2020, at 8:55 PM (EST). Infiniti invites potential customers to watch a live stream of the event, which will likely be done remotely for social distancing. The 2022 Infiniti QX55 will arrive in North American dealerships in the spring of 2021, and will be available in other regions soon after. Expect pricing to be higher than the QX50, which starts at $37,250.
