Over the summer, Subaru was spotted testing what looked like the next-generation BRZ sports car. Not long after, Subaru teased the new BRZ and told fans that the car will debut sometime in fall 2020. Since that announcement, there have been some more leaked photos but no new information about the 2022 Subaru BRZ. Now Subaru has just released the most revealing teaser yet, showing off a headlight and a nice portion of the hood.

The image was posted on Subaru's website under a 'Future Vehicles And Concepts' section, along with some other information about the car including the reveal date. On the website, a statement reads: "The all-new 2022 BRZ is coming, and the countdown has already started. Sign up to be one of the first to receive the latest updates on the world premiere on November 18."

Well, there you have it folks. The new BRZ will debut before Thanksgiving this year and the world premier is just a few weeks away. Judging by the latest teaser, the camouflaged prototype that we saw in spy shots was the real deal. This new BRZ looks drastically different than the model it replaces, especially in the front. The headlight design is a completely different shape than before and the hood looks more sculpted.

We still have no idea what will power the next-generation BRZ and its Toyota sibling, the 86. Subaru's website doesn't give many hints. It simply says, "We're always working to make sure the road ahead is safe and full of adventure." Some rumors predict that the new BRZ will use a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated boxer-four producing 217 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. While these are healthy increases over the old 2.0-liter engine, some enthusiasts may still lament the lack of a turbocharger. Luckily, we don't have much longer to wait to see the new BRZ in full.
