Instead of attending one of the big international motor shows, Dodge will host its multi-day Dodge Speed Week event in August. It will take place on Woodward Avenue, and Dodge says it will provide enough news to fill an entire calendar year. Simply put, Dodge will tell you everything you need to know about upcoming models and the brand's future, all between 12 and 20 August. The big bombshell is that Dodge will unveil not just one new muscle car, but at least three.

"There's no better place to unveil a new performance direction for the Dodge brand than right on Woodward Avenue in metro Detroit, with tens of thousands of our closest fans and friends," said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer at Stellantis.

Dodge will make three important model announcements, one of which will be an EV model.

"We introduced our two-year Never Lift road map last year at Roadkill Nights, and this year the event will serve as the prelude to going wide-open throttle on Never Lift. All I can say is the future of our brand will be on display during Dodge Speed Week, and we're throwing open our garage doors so our fans can get a peek for themselves. It's going to be an electric summer for Dodge."

It that's not a not-so-subtle-hint, we don't know what is.

The three announcements will take place over three days. On the first day, Dodge will make current muscle car announcements. The second day will focus on gateway muscle announcement, while the third day will have muscle car fanboys drowning their sorrows with cheap beer. That's when Dodge will announce its future muscle plans.

The announcements concerning current muscle cars will likely be model year updates or perhaps a new special edition. There have even been rumors that the not-so-muscley Dodge Hornet will debut then, too.

The gateway announcement is more interesting still, as it's likely to focus on existing powertrains coupled with a plug-in hybrid system, possibly in the form of a Durango SRT Plug-In, to prepare fans for the inevitable announcement the following day.

Dodge has been quite open about its upcoming EV muscle car, set to be launched in 2024. Dodge has made some bold proclamations about its sound and performance, but it will be interesting to see what name Dodge settles on for the electric Challenger Hellcat alternative.
