Pebble Beach may be the next major event on our calendars, but manufacturers are already busy preparing for the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show in September to showcase their latest models. And one manufacturer that will have a major presence at the German show is of course Mercedes-Benz, which will showing off two all-new models.

One of those will be the world debut of the hot Mercedes-AMG GLB, just a few months after the regular 2020 Mercedes GLB was unveiled. No teaser photos or details have been revealed, but there's a lot we already know about Mercedes-AMG's hot crossover.

Since the regular GLB has already broken, it isn't difficult to imagine what the AMG version will look like. Spy photos of a camouflaged GLB 35 prototype have shown it will sport aggressive air intakes, a new front bumper, an AMG grille, wider side sills and dual exhaust pipes, giving the crossover a sportier look. Also expect the SUV to have stiffer suspension and bigger brakes to cope with the extra power on tap.

The GLB 35 is expected to use the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as the A35 sedan and hatchback, which sends 301 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Topping the range will be the new Mercedes-AMG GLB 45, which is expected to increase the power to 416 hp and 369 lb-ft in the flagship GLB 45 S model. Mercedes hasn't said which model will debut at Frankfurt, but it makes sense to debut the GLB 35 before the flagship GLB 45. The "regular" GLB will also make its auto show debut.

In addition, Mercedes will promote its new electric EQ range with a mystery new concept car that "embodies the flexible, customer-oriented and sustainable vision of the Mercedes-Benz product and technology brand EQ." New plug-in hybrid models and the production version of the EQV electric van concept will also debut.
