This Is When You Can Order A Ford Bronco Raptor

Off-Road / 10 Comments

Certain customers will get preference, though.

Revealed in January this year, the eagerly awaited Ford Bronco Raptor will sit atop the Bronco lineup with superior off-road ability and a powerful 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 sending over 400 horsepower to all four wheels. Pricing is competitive, sitting in between the F-150 Raptor and the Wrangler Rubicon 392, with a base MSRP of $69,995.

If demand for the regular version is anything to go by, the Raptor will be a sales hit for the Blue Oval. Ford has recently communicated with dealers, outlining the Bronco Raptor order and production timeline, as well as the customer selection process.

According to bronco6g.com, customers who expressed interest (known as Hand Raisers) received a message on Friday, February 11, about the vehicle. Two messages went out, either updating would-be buyers that they've been selected to order a Raptor, or providing general information on the vehicle and its future availability. The Hand Raiser program allows current Bronco order and reservation holders to convert to a Raptor order in March.

In the same month, the Bronco Raptor price and build site, and order guides will be released, along with the order banks.

The dealer communique reads: "To help align messaging, all dealerships will receive a list of customers that expressed interest in Bronco Raptor and whether they were selected for the opportunity to order a Bronco Raptor via the hand raiser program. Allocation will be provided to cover these orders. Please look out for the list of customers from your regional representative in the next 24 hours. Total allocation numbers will be communicated during the next wholesale period."

Reputedly, customers were chosen to order a Bronco Raptor based on specific criteria, such as the reservation timestamp within the dealership. Ford also notes that to ensure Raptors reach as many customers as possible, the selection is limited to one vehicle per unique email address.

For now, Hand Raisers can sit back and wait. Ford will send further information when the order bank opens, instructing customers to approach their dealership and convert the unscheduled Bronco order to a Raptor.

Furthermore, the communication notes, "all customers with an unscheduled order selected to order a Bronco Raptor will have their priority code moved to 99 to ensure their order does not schedule. If they no longer wish to order a Bronco Raptor, verify their build configuration is correct and remove the 99PC so the order is eligible for scheduling."

Ford has noted that the Bronco Raptor will be produced for the remainder of the 2022 model year, with deliveries commencing in the summer. As it is a specialty vehicle, production is "very limited." Undoubtedly, the Raptor will be hot property. We just hope wolfish dealers don't take advantage of this, placing hefty premiums on the MSRP, something CEO Jim Farley has warned about - and is taking very seriously.
