It's been everyone's favorite butt-engined sports car since it debuted in 1963 and, despite some efforts by Porsche to kill it a couple of decades ago, the Porsche 911 isn't going anywhere. Quite the opposite. Porsche is only making it better and better, thus bringing us to the 2017 911 Carrera S. Its flat-six engine is now accompanied by a pair of turbochargers. And, no, this isn't the 911 Turbo we're talking about. The latest 911 Carrera S is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six with 420 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque.

Just to compare, the previous Carrera S has a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six with 400 hp and 325 lb-ft. Our tester managed to go from 0-60 mph in only 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 191 mph. Is this a supercar?

Based on those numbers, it ain't far off. Here's another comparison: the Ferrari 488 GTB does the dirty 0-60 deed in 3 seconds flat and has a top speed of 205 mph and yet costs over $100,000 more. Does that mean the 2017 Porsche Carrera S is a bargain? Perhaps. There's lots more to talk about here, so check out our latest review. Special thanks to Sonnen Porsche for letting us shoot the car.
