Those of us who love cars but aren't necessarily masters under the hood know enough to be weary of mechanics that prey on ignorance. Given the countless horror stories we've heard about mechanics who cheat unsuspecting customers out of thousands of dollars, when it comes time to get a car serviced, it seems like a good idea to stick to your guns and not allow yourself to be persuaded to buy something more expensive. However, with engine oil, sometimes the money spent really does go towards something useful.
