This might be the best collection of Fords in the world.
This year at the RM Sotheby's Auction, a collection of six amazing Ford models will be auctioned off, first reported by Yahoo. The cars are part of a collection from Jim Click, a dealership owner, and includes a few of the most successful competition Cobras including a 1964 Shelby 289 Cobra, CSX 2473, which was sold new to a Shelby employee, then sold to an SCCA racer. The collection also includes two Boss 302 Trans Am cars, a '64 289 Cobra, and a '66 Shelby GT350. These cars are amazing, but pale in comparison to the collection's crown jewel.
The most amazing car in the collection is a 1966 Ford GT40 Mark I. This GT40 has a chassis code P/1061 and is one of 31 Mark I cars designed for road use and one of seven that was kept by Ford for promotional use. It is estimated that the GT40 could sell for upwards of $4.25 million. Photos courtesy of Patrick Ernzen, RM Sotheby's
