The story of the Lucid brand has been filled with a ton of ups and downs. After a string of financial woes, the California-based EV company finally launched the much-anticipated Lucid Air. This high-performance EV sedan has blown away the competition in terms of sheer performance and it looks great too, but the waiting list has grown excruciatingly long, and the Lucid Air has already faced its first recall. For those who can look past all the noise, Bring A Trailer has just posted an exclusive 2022 Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance for sale on its website, and with three days left, the current bid stands at a neat $150,000.

The Dream Edition was the first to go when Lucid started rolling cars off the production line and is at this time fully booked on the Lucid waiting list, making this model doubly desirable, and the Dream Edition Performance even more so. This example was delivered new to Lucid Group USA of Scottsdale and then onto a Florida-based selling dealer in December 2021. This Infinite Black car includes exterior features such as Platinum Polish trim, a glass canopy roof with sunlight-blocking technology, soft-close doors, and LED adaptive headlights with automatic high beams. This sleek EV rolls on a set of 21-inch forged Aero Dream wheels with machined spokes wrapped in 265/35 Pirelli P Zero Elect tires.

The cabin of the Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance is an opulent affair too. The Dream-Santa Monica interior features heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats covered in gray Nappa leather and beige fabric, gray microsuede, and silvered eucalyptus wood trim. Standard features include wireless smartphone charging, a 34-inch Glass Cockpit display screen, quad-zone climate control, and a Surreal Sound system with wireless smartphone charging. Driver assistance features include a surround-camera system, automatic parking, and all the hardware necessary for semi-autonomous driving. Under those shapely body panels sit dual permanent-magnet electric motors and a 118-kilowatt-hour battery pack which is good for 1,111 horsepower. Power is sent to all four wheels via a single-speed transmission.

The odometer shows 114 miles, and the window sticker a total MSRP of $170,500. At $150,000, this Lucid Air is still a bargain, but we're quite sure that price will head north in the coming days.
