No wonder it costs $8,000.
The Senna is one of the most mental road cars McLaren has ever produced. Sadly, very few people will have the privilege of owning one, though we recently had the honor of experiencing a passenger ride in a Senna at Goodwood with none other than Bruno Senna behind the wheel. Only 499 examples are being produced (before you ask, every model has already been sold), each costing a whopping $837,000. There is, however, now a cheaper way to own a McLaren Senna.
Amalgam Collection is now offering an insanely detailed Senna 1:8 scale model, and it looks incredible. Amalgam Collection used CAD data provided by McLaren to painstakingly reproduce every detail as accurately as possible. The model even had to be vetted by McLaren engineers and designers before it could be unveiled to the public.
This particular model is a Limited Edition trim and can be yours for $8,184. That may sound like a lot for a model car, but remember this is anauthentically detailed replica, not a toy.
It's finished in a signature McLaren orange paint job and features carbon fiber accents, gunmetal-finished wheels, and blue brake calipers. If that spec doesn't suit your taste, the $9,384 Bespoke trim allows you to customize the paint colors, interior upholstery details, wheel styles, and calipers. Alternatively, the Bespoke Plus option, which starts at $10,584, offers even more extensive personalization options. Buyers can choose from a range of full interior and exterior options, from custom paint jobs to material finishes in the cabin. Each model takes 3,000 hours to develop from concept to completion and takes 300 hours to sculpt by hand.
