The latest iteration of the Nissan GT-R is arguably the fastest and best version of the iconic Skyline. However, long before the Japanese automaker envisioned the R35 GT-R, it was hard at work on creating a track-focused version of the car. The Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo 400R was created in 1997 to commemorate the automaker's involvement in Le Mans. All 44 units were hand built at the Nismo factory and became iconic for its role in promoting the Gran Turismo racing game.
The 400R's powerful 2.8-liter straight-six, generating 400 hp, is accented by the car's gorgeous carbon fiber parts. Only six more years until we can import these beasts.
