With the Mk4 Golf, Volkswagen had for the first time taken the popular hatchback upmarket. And with the range-topping R32, came the world’s first production car with a dual-clutch gearbox. That came mated to a 3.2-liter V6, but thanks to HPerformance this has been given a turbo kit that boosts output to 550 hp and 539 lb-ft of torque. Combined with a remapped ECU, reinforced pistons and connecting rods, and water-cooled intake manifold, this should have some serious impact on the stock car’s 0-62 mph time of 6.6 seconds and top speed of 153 mph.
Other mods include a new exhaust with 90-mm end pipes, 19-inch HRE rims, KW variant 2 coilovers and H&R stabilizers, and enlarged front wings. If you happen to own a fourth-gen R32, then for 35,000 Euros you can own one of the coolest, most capable hot hatches in the world.
