This One-Off Aston Martin Vantage GT12 Is Mean And Green

Auctions / Comments

Only one of the 100 Aston Martin Vantage GT12s that were made was finished in Viridian Green - and now it can be yours.

The Aston Martin Vantage spawned several special edition models, but one of the most extreme examples was the lightweight, track-focused GT12, formerly known as the GT3 Special Edition, first introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Only 100 examples were produced which already makes it a rare car, but only one was coated in a distinctive Viridian Green paintjob courtesy of Aston Martin's Q division. And guess what? The one and only example ever made is heading to auction as part of the Bonhams Aston Martin sale this month.

Under the hood lies a 5.9-liter V12 that produces 595 horsepower, allowing the GT12 to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 3.5 seconds, and hit a limited top speed of 185 mph. While the Viridian Green exterior may be too garish for some, the bodywork has been suitably tweaked for the track with some aerodynamic refinements, including a prominent rear wing and pronounced front splitter which increases the downforce to provide better grip and stability compared to the road car. It also weighs only 1,565 kg, which is 100 kg less than the standard V12 Vantage S, thanks to its components being dressed in copious amounts of carbon fiber, from the front wings and hood, to the door casings.

The interior has been reworked too, with a full carbon-fiber center console and interior door panels, as well as Alcantara sport bucket seats. When it was new, the Aston Martin Vantage GT12 would set you back $385,000. Considering this example is practically brand new having only done less than 18 'delivery' miles since it rolled off the assembly lines, Bonhams estimates the rare track-focused car to sell between $450,000 and $520,000 when it goes under the hammer on May 13.
