This One-Off McLaren 720S By MSO Is Inscribed With A Bruce McLaren Quote

Almost 50 years after his death, McLaren's legacy is still very much alive.

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) prides itself in its ability to accommodate literally any customer demand, no matter how big or small the request. The sky's the limit, so to speak. And for the UK supercar company's latest MSO offering, the words of founder Bruce McLaren are inscribed on this rear wing of this one-off 720S. Making its official debut at the Dubai Motor Show, this McLaren 720S was commissioned as a bespoke creation.

In addition to its Zenith Black paint with a satin finish, Gold-colored alloys and a 24-carat gold engine heatshield, there's that rear wing and quote: "Life is measured in achievement, not in years alone." Bruce McLaren's words, specifically, are painted on the upper surface of the rear wing in gold Arabic lettering, which has been stylized to look like the Dubai skyline. McLaren adds that more than 120 hours were required for the personalization process, with the rear wing alone requiring 30 hours to finish. MSO also made the stencils for the gold lettering. The interior is also completely black, with both black Alcantara and black leather trim complemented by MSO Defined carbon fiber sill panels, fascia vents and steering wheel.

The gearshift paddles are painted in gold as is the center band in the steering wheel. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 remains unchanged from the non-MSO 720S. "The quote from Bruce McLaren rings true not only of the history of McLaren, but also the achievements of the UAE and the Gulf states over the last four decades," said Andreas Bareis, McLaren's Managing Director for the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. The UAE and the region are very important to McLaren, not only in terms of our client base, but also because of the support from our shareholders. This car pays tribute to that."
