For most of us, stretching to the "Premium" or "Luxury" trim instead of the entry-level model when purchasing a new vehicle feels like a worthy accomplishment. Rolls-Royce doesn't describe its vehicles using such common, rudimentary labels. That's why the automaker's latest bespoke Phantom is called Iridescent Opulence. It already sounds expensive and extravagant, and that's precisely what it is.

Rolls-Royce's Bespoke division has created some truly grand vehicles in the past, and this unique Phantom joins that list following its unveiling at Abu Dhabi Motors. The highlight of this car is The Gallery, a glass piece across the dashboard where discerning customers can display a piece of art of their choice.

In the Iridescent Opulence, The Gallery is a stunning display of feathers designed by Nature Squared, a materials specialist based in Switzerland. Amazingly, over 3,000 tail feathers were collected from "a sustainable species of bird". Each feather was individually shaped and then hand-sewn onto an open-pore fabric.

The feathers appear to sprout from the classic Rolls-Royce clock, which is inlaid with a Mother of Pearl surround. The end result is a beautiful display that is described as bringing "both movement and fragility" to The Gallery.

"The Gallery in Rolls-Royce Phantom is a unique space that provides the perfect stage to showcase artworks," said Cesar Habib, Regional Director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Middle East and Africa. "'Iridescent Opulence' by Nature Squared is a brilliant example of what can be commissioned and displayed in that space."

We've seen some thoroughly unique designs for The Gallery previously, such as a South African artist's more vibrant use of bright, geometric shapes. This Iridescent Opulence version also comes with the other gorgeous features of the Phantom such as the two-tone exterior and the stunning starlight headliner. Those colorful feathers are pure art and serve as a showcase of what can be achieved under the brand's Bespoke program.
