With the next-generation Nissan GT-R still seemingly in development hell, demand for the legendary Nissan Skyline R34 has never been higher. Last month, a pristine Skyline R34 sold for almost $500,000, setting a new auction record.

After turning a Lamborghini Huracan into a wild off-roader, YouTube channel B is for Build recently acquired an abandoned R34 Skyline GT-T project car and plans to give the Japanese sports car a new lease of life. How? By combining transplanting the salvageable remains onto an R35 GT-R to create the ultimate Skyline restomod.

The R34 Skyline GT-T project car is in poor condition, to say the least. One of the previous owners tried to convert the car to left-hand drive by cutting up the dashboard and transmission tunnel, but did a very poor job and abandoned the project. There's also no engine, transmission, shifter clutch, pedals or seats. And because it isn't over 25 years old, it technically isn't legal to import in the US.

Rather than have it scrapped, B is for Build has come up with a cunning plan to make it legal in the US. The YouTuber plans to remove the body and place it onto the chassis of an R35 Skyline GT-R.

Fortunately, the R35 chassis has a similar wheelbase and track-width to the R34, but the R35 will still need to be extensively modified for the body swap. In another video, we get to see the YouTuber cut the roof off the R35 Skyline donor car to create a targa top version of the Japanese sports car. Since then, the YouTuber has successfully removed the entire body, stripping the R35 naked.

We'll have to wait and see how the project progresses, but it should be finished soon. B is for Build plans to show the final build at this year's SEMA show in November.
