The current third-generation Dodge Durango has been around since 2011 but it's aged remarkably well. It's one of the only midsize SUVs on the market with three rows of seats, making it especially attractive to families with off-road adventures in mind. It's also an amazing on-road performance machine, thanks to the V8-powered SRT and Hellcat trims. Dodge and buyers aren't the only ones who think highly of the Durango. Mopar does too, and that's why it's been chosen to help celebrate the parts division's 85th anniversary.

Meet the limited edition Mopar 2022 Durango, which is making its debut appearance this week at SEMA in Las Vegas. This isn't a concept SUV. Just 250 examples are planned; 200 for the US and another 50 for Canada.

The exterior, available in either DB Black or White Knuckle, features that always cool asymmetrical Mopar Blue stripe running on the driver's side beginning at the front fascia to the rear fascia. There's also the must-have Mopar blue badge, now located on the front grille, and Brembo-branded brake calipers. Step inside and the blue-colored theme continues with accent stitching found on the seats, instrument panel, center console, and doors. A Mopar pedal kit and all-weather floor mats round out the package.

The Mopar edition is specifically for the Durango R/T AWD with the Plus Group and Tow N Go Package, which has best-in-class towing of 8,700 pounds. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 360 horsepower is found under the hood and paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Driving enthusiasts will further appreciate the SRT-tuned performance exhaust, electronic limited-slip differential, and an active damping suspension. A set of 20-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber are standard, as is the Mopar-supplied 1-inch lowering kit. Buyers will also get a custom-made metal certificate with the serialized build number and a rendering, courtesy of the Mopar design crew.

The Mopar '22 Special Edition Package is a $3,995 option on top of the Durango R/T AWD V8's price, which began at around $46,000 last year. Dealers will begin taking orders in the first quarter of 2022 and it's fair to assume this a first-come, first-served deal.
