This Tuning House Has Big Plans For The All-New BMW M2

We're talking more horsepower than the M4.

By now you already know that the new BMW M2 is perfection on wheels and or the greatest car ever built. In all seriousness, though, the new M2 is pretty damn incredible but as always there's a bit more power to be squeezed out of its engine. Also, BMW left off some pretty critical aero pieces, at least in the minds of some. A few of those minds belong to the folks over at Alpha-N Performance. The German tuning house just released images (courtesy of Photoshop) and performance figures for its upcoming M2 tune job.

The M2 is plenty feisty with its 3.0-liter inline-six good for 370 horsepower and 343 lb-ft of torque. Alpha-N Performance plans to up this to 480 horsepower courtesy of a chip tune and the addition of water injection. Yes, the same water injection technology that helps the BMW M4 GTS to achieve its massive power output. The most obvious exterior mod is the massive rear-wing, which we're not too wild about but hey, performance. There's also a carbon fiber splitter up front along with a carbon fiber front bumper and side sills. To further drop weight a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof, like the ones available on the M3 and M4, is planned.

If all that wasn't fun enough there's a Clubsport version, complete with roll cage and lightweight seats. There's no word on pricing but expect it to cost you a bit more than the M2's base price of $51,000.
