Lotus has definitely had its ups and downs, financially speaking, at least. Things seem to be getting on track in Hethel as of late, however, as the iconic UK sports car company has promised it’ll return to the US market very soon. That said, we’ve anxiously been waiting for that to happen because we sincerely believe Porsche needs some competition. Take the Lotus Evora Sport 410, for example. Sure, it may not be quite as powerful, or as fast, as the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS, but it’s sure a hoot and a half to drive, as Carfection recently demonstrated.
With its supercharged 3.5-liter V6 producing 410 (hence the name) hp, the Evora Sport 410 can hit a top speed of around 190 mph, making it the fastest production car it’s ever made.
Moreover, it’s absolutely brilliant to drive, especially on track. And that’s where Lotus’ specialty lies: brilliant chassis and handling tuning. Sure, its existing lineup isn’t exactly all-new, and a completely new model would be wonderful, but what’s fully intact is the automaker’s engineering prowess. The Evora Sport 410 is proof.
