Since it's a plug-in hybrid, it receives all manner of government-sponsored perks, especially for potential customers in Europe. But many people were also hoping that the BMW i8 would come with Porsche 911/Audi R8 levels of everyday city practicality. Usability like that combined with not having to pay a congestion charge would make it the ultimate supercar for European city dwellers, and it wouldn't suck for Americans either.
But Carbuyer found that the car isn't quite what you might hope it would be. And although it might still be fantastic for some, it isn't the all-rounder that its German rivals still are.
