Time to Hear the M3 and M4 Make Some Noise

These latest M cars are going to be epic. Just epic.

These are the new BMWs many have been waiting a long time for. The all-new BMW M3 and M4 made their official live debuts earlier this month at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show to rave reviews. Unlike the outgoing E90/E92 generation, the 2015 M3 and M4 are no longer powered by a naturally aspirated V8. A 3.0-liter straight-six twin-turbo is now the engine of choice, and it delivers a solid 431 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. It’s more fuel efficient and more powerful than the old V8.

The pair still has the typical design traits such as a long hood and short rear end, but their styling is definitely more aggressive than ever before. The cars are also lighter than their predecessors, thus allowing for better handling and overall performance. But how do these things sound? XCAR gets an exclusive early preview.
