When it comes to German high-performance coupes, the immediate go-to machine is usually the BMW M3. Wait, sorry, that'll soon be the M4. German automaker naming patterns aside, an alternative to the Bimmer is just going on sale now in the US, although in extremely limited numbers. Yes, that'll be the Audi RS 5, the car US enthusiasts have been asking for and now the automaker has kindly obliged. Only 1,500 examples are set to be sold in the US.

Those lucky enough to snatch one up will be treated to a naturally-aspirated V8 that'll propel the RS 5's occupants from 0-60 mph in about four seconds. Each of these engines is hand-built by a German born and bred engine meister. But unlike the rear-wheel-drive M3 and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe, the RS 5 comes with Audi's famed Quattro all-wheel drive system, which means owners can drive it through snow and sleet and still look awesome. Pricing wise, the RS 5 certainly ain't cheap with stickering at nearly $76,000. But it's well worth it and M3 and C63 AMG owners will be envious. That's worth the price right there.
