Not a star, but still someone who has money.
You know that you've sat watching Top Gear and thought, during the "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car" segment, and thought "I could go faster than this guy." Well, you now have the chance to prove it, as Top Gear is offering members of the public a couple of laps of the track, complete with professional coaching. You'll get your official time and be able to see where you rank against other members of the public and celebrities alike.
The package isn't especially expensive, at 175 pounds ($265), although you don't get a whole lot of track time for that, and the car you'll be driving isn't exactly a supercar. But the idea is that bragging rights will make up for that, especially if you can out-drive the top-ranked celebrity, Matt LeBlanc. Indeed, one member of the public already has, by a massive 4 seconds. The reasonably priced car is actually the old one, the Kia Cee'd, but we assume that this is because they don't want members of the public messing with the current Reasonably Priced Car in any way.
