When the new Toyota GR 86 debuted, we knew it was only a matter of time before aftermarket tuners would modify the RWD Japanese sports car. Thanks to its affordable price tag, the last-generation Toyota 86 was popular with aftermarket tuners, and the new model is no exception. Back in the summer, Toyota showcased its favorite custom GR 86 cars created by Japanese aftermarket tuners.

Now, Japan's TRA Kyoto has unveiled a new Rocket Bunny body kit for the GR 86 that dials up the aggression considerably If the standard sports car looks too tame in your eyes.

Like the tuner's other wild creations, the modifications are not subtle. Thanks to its redesigned fascia, the modified GR 86 is almost unrecognizable. At the front, TRA Kyoto has added a new front splitter with attached canards and a custom grille. An additional air intake has also been added to the front of the hood to improve cooling.

Elsewhere, the custom GR86 features square flared front and rear fenders, custom wheels, and lowered suspension. At the back, the tuner has fitted a fixed rear wing and a prominent diffuser. The result looks like a GR 86 on steroids that will inevitably divide opinions. It's a radical departure from the GR 86's sporty yet subtle styling.

TRA Kyoto has not confirmed how much the Rocket Bunny GR 86 kit will cost or when it will be available. Under the hood, the powertrain has presumably been left stock as TRA Kyoto has not said if the performance has been enhanced to complement the racy exterior modifications.

In stock form, the Toyota GR 86 is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine generating 228 hp and 184 lb-ft, which is sent to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Deliveries of the Toyota GR 86 will start in the US later this year, but pricing has not been announced yet.
