When an automaker has a new car to reveal, it typically will either wait until the next major auto show to unveil it, or else release the details on its own schedule – and then present it in person at the next major auto show. But every once in a while, a major carmaker choses another type of venue to release a new car. The largest automakers in America typically unveil their new pickups at the Texas State Fair, but Toyota will unveil its new 4Runner at the Stagecoach Music Festival in Palm Springs, California, in less than a week from now.

The music festival takes place on Saturday, April 27, and will be the first venue of its kind at which the world's largest automaker will debut a new vehicle. Toyota hasn't released much information on the vehicle itself, but along with this pair of teaser images, has revealed that the vehicle in question will be a redesign for the SUV, now in its fifth generation. The head- and tail-lights indicate that the revised 4Runner will boast more dynamic styling than the current model, but we'll have to wait until Saturday to see what's in store.
