Ford outright admitted that its new Shelby GT350R is a direct response to the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Thing is, we have yet to see how the former performs on the track. The Z/28 has already earned Motor Trend's 2014 Best Driver's Car award, beating out heavy favorites like the Porsche 911 GT3. But we're willing to bet that Ford's new track toy will do the job it was designed to do and then some. Could this thing be the ultimate track beast that won't force buyers to remortgage their homes?

N/A

Powered by that new 5.2-liter flat-plane V8 with over 500 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, the GT350R features an aggressive aero kit consisting partly of a new hood vent, aggressive rear diffuser, and an all carbon-fiber rear wing. Heck, even the 19-inch alloy wheels are entirely carbon fiber. For its part, the Z/28 comes powered by a 7.0-liter NA V8 with 505 hp and plenty of lightweight aero components of its own. So let's just be honest here: both of these cars are completely bonkers. They're true American, track-destroying muscle. But which do you prefer?
