Actor-comedian's condition now rated as fair after horror crash.
A report by the National Transportation Safety Board regarding the accident that seriously injured actor-comedian Tracy Morgan has revealed the Wal-Mart truck that rear-ended Morgan's Sprinter van was speeding at the moment of impact. The accident occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike near Cranbury, New Jersey, where the 2012 Mercedes Sprinter limo van that was carrying Morgan and four others was struck from the rear by a Peterbilt tractor-trailer.
Comedian James McNair was killed, while Morgan was hospitalized with broken ribs, a broken leg, broken femur and broken nose. His condition was recently upgraded from critical to fair. The accident photos accompanying the report demonstrates the severity of the impact, while the NTSB says the truck was travelling at 65 mph, 20 mph over the speed limit. The truck driver turned himself into the police, with reports suggesting he had been awake 24 hours at the time of the crash.
