Subaru has released its second behind-the-scenes video that dives into what it took to make Travis Pastrana's enthralling Gymkhana 2022 video.

The first installment of the three-part series documented the labor-intensive vehicle construction and stunt coordination and even contains footage of the parachuting accident that saw Pastrana break his back in January 2022. Fully recovered and ready to entertain us all, you'd think it would be smooth sailing for the Gymkhana crew - but several challenges proved a worthy adversary for all involved.

After several earlier setbacks, the team heads to a pier to shoot some stunts. But it's a race against the sun, and filming needs to be done before night takes over from the day. "This is the longest single action stunt, maybe of all time, for Gymkhana," remarks Pastrana.

"It's got to be a one-take-wonder. [Everyone] has to nail it ... I see nothing that can possibly go wrong."

With the sun fast setting, the team has just two or three attempts to perfect the scene involving the monster truck. However, trouble soon strikes when, in one of the scenes, Pastrana hits a K-Rail, damaging suspension components.

"We needed a one-take wonder, and couldn't get it together," laments a disappointed Pastrana.

Incredibly, the expert technicians rise to the occasion and repair the car in no time. With nightfall fast approaching, everything comes together in one triumphant takedown, and the crew got the much-needed shot - something Gymkhana fans will surely appreciate.

Of course, this is just one of the roadblocks that faced the team during the filming of this phenomenal piece, including mechanical breakdown of both the Family Huckster and Cleetus McFarland's 'Mullet' drag car.

"That entire shoot, it just seemed like we were up against it. Things kept happening. The base-jump accident, the diff breaking, hitting the wall with the monster truck ... these shoots are tough." If you're interested in seeing what went into creating the latest Gymkhana video, it's well worth a watch.

We'll be looking out for the third installment, which seems to cover the incredible stunt that saw the 862-horsepower Subaru GL (a predecessor to the Impreza) launch over a bridge in Florida. This is the second time Pastrana has taken charge in a Gymkhana video after the late Ken Block handed over the reins to the talented driver in 2020.
