Tesla, the world's leading manufacturer of electric vehicles, is starting to face increasing competition from established players, as well as newcomers, who all seek to dethrone the California-based EV giant. The Tesla Cybertruck isn't even on the road yet, and already has to face the Ford F-150 Lightning. The Tesla Model S squares up against German rivals such as the Porsche Taycan. What about Tesla's SUV, the Model X? Well most would agree that something like the Rivian R1S SUV would be a natural competitor, but the internet disagrees: all it wants to see is a Model X play tug-of-war with a military tank, and we're fine with that.

YouTube channel Dobre Cars recently filmed a friendly tug between a Model X and a military tank. This isn't your US Army-issued M1A2 Abrams however, but a smaller vehicle that weighs about 20,000 pounds. That is still nearly four times as heavy as your standard Model X (and four times as high as its tow rating).

The Model X might be a comparative lightweight, but it packs a massive punch performance-wise. The most-powerful Plaid's electric motors churn out 1,020 horses, allowing it to sprint to 60 mph in only 2.5 seconds, and It will smash the quarter-mile in 9.9 seconds and still manage around 340 miles on a single charge. The owner of this Model X says, "about 800 hp," so we're not exactly sure which model he has.

Before we even started watching the video, we had a good idea of what was going to transpire, and after watching it, we weren't far off: the Tesla absolutely destroyed the tank in the drag race. The tank was doomed from the start. The tug of war challenge was a bit more interesting.

The first line snapped, forcing the presenters to get a more sturdy metal piece. The Tesla might have enough torque, but it couldn't match the tank's traction, and is eventually pulled backwards. It's good to know that there are still some vehicles out there that a Tesla can't beat somehow.
