Turbo Miata Chases Down Ferrari 488 And Porsche GT3 RS On Nurburgring

Nurburgring

Can the 25-year-old MX-5 Miata catch up??

Not many people can get behind the wheel of a Mazda MX-5 Miata and not fall in love. Many hold it up as the best driver’s car on the streets, but the one consistent complaint is that the tiny four-cylinder engine isn’t powerful enough to do any real racing. Well that’s been fixed in this Miata for One Lap Hero’s Kostas Sidiras who turbocharged the engine. This particular motor has been rebuilt following a bout of engine failure, and what better way to jump back into the game than to show some supercars that they really aren't all that super.

Of course, the faithful little Miata doesn’t manage to catch the newer speed demons but the footage goes to show how big a difference a bit of skill and tuning know-how can make on the track.
