We will see at SEMA a turbocharged Hyundai Veloster thanks to American tuners ARK Performance.
ARK Performance decided that the Hyundai Veloster lacked the pomp and circumstance that a hot hatch should have. Well, they were partly right, as the Velsoter runs a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out a pedestrian 138hp and 123lb-ft of torque. Cue ARK and their turbocharging compadres. The tuners from Chino have ratcheted-up the power on the hot little hatch to 210hp thanks to an intercooled turbocharger system and a high-flow exhaust system.
"The Hyundai Veloster is an ideal car for enthusiasts with its distinctive design and dynamic architecture. At SEMA, our ARK Performance Veloster will bridge the realm between an affordable sports car and an extreme motor sports vehicle. From the first Tiburon, to the Genesis Coupe, and now with the Veloster, ARK Performance continues to uphold the torch as the pioneer of aftermarket performance manufacturing for Hyundai," said the owner of ARK Performance Ted Lee. To control the added power, ARK has added six-piston front brakes. Their version also features a coilover suspension system.
Some nice interior upgrades are also included by way of Alcantara leather. The exterior features a widebody kit with some neon green and gray graphics. You can check out ARK Performance's Hyundai Veloster when it makes its official debut at the SEMA Show in November.
