The old "Plastic Fantastic" is also a good bank for the buck.
Can’t scrape enough cash together for the all-new C7 Corvette Stingray? Don’t be totally bummed because there’s a cheaper alternative out there that’ll more than satisfy your small-block V8 cravings. We’re referring to the outgoing C6 Corvette, which was in production from 2005 until earlier this year. Sure it’s got its faults, mainly in the refinement department, but considering the sheer amount of power under its hood and its overall solid reliability record, it’s also killer value for money.
Even Edmunds thinks so. The publication has just ranked the C6 as the best used two seat sports car that you can buy today. In fact, the C6 was the only GM vehicle on the entire used car list. Edmunds specifically points out the Vette’s 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds and nearly 190 mph top speed. And that’s just the base model. A quick search we did found that even a used 2007 C6 can be had for around $26,000. Not bad at all for a car that has supercar-like performance.
