After hitting 219 mph in 6.16 seconds over the quarter-mile, this twin-turbo 10-liter 1998 Chevy S-10 now holds the title of the World's Quickest Street Legal Car. The record-breaking run took place this weekend at the Hot Rod Drag Week 2014 Heads-Up Challenge, with Larry Larson of Larson Race Cars behind the wheel of the monstrous truck. Before you start asking how this drag destroyer could possibly be considered street legal, bear in mind HotRod magazine decides the rules.

As long as the car has a Vin#, is tagged, insured, passed an inspection, and can drive 1,000 miles unaided, it qualifies. At the end of the run, note how the parachute was pulled early. Yep, this beast has every chance of running in the fives. We can't wait to see that.
