At first this may seem like an unfair comparison. But still, we're certainly glad that Car and Driver had the brilliant idea to pit a 1997 Dodge Viper GTS against the all-new 2014 SRT Viper. 16 years is a long time but in the auto industry, it's a lifetime. So the thought of these two Vipers facing off against one another may come across as unfair, but the GTS shown here has had a number of modifications such as super tuner kit that has increased total output to 660 horsepower.

The new SRT Viper is good for 640 hp, if you want to compare apples to apples. The original GTS also has a reworked suspension and upgraded brakes, amongst many other mods. But can the old beat the state-of-the-art new? Has the new Viper lost some of its badass raw mojo in the 21st century? Tune in below to find out.
